There are few things in this world as comforting and satisfying as a good plate of warm pasta. Pasta lovers know the emotional experience starts even before the first bite. It begins with the plan, the smell of the sauce cooking slowly, the warm kitchen announcing there will be plenty of carbs involved today. And if it's cold outside, it is even better. And if it's a rainy day, ohhh, awesome. Pasta is emotionally healing for society on rainy days.

I could eat a different kind of pasta every day of the week. I just don't because I try to balance my diet for as long as possible, but I would absolutely have gnocchi for dinner every time it's cold outside. With creamy tomato sauce, of course. That's my favorite. And lots of parmesan cheese on top. You shouldn't even be able to see what's underneath the cheese; to me, that's the perfect amount. And last but not least, add plenty of black pepper.

Pasta made at home tastes even better. Maybe that is why pasta is so emotional to many people. I personally love it because my grandma used to make a huge batch of gnocchi on weekends and invite us over for lunch. I remember walking into the kitchen and seeing all the counters covered in flour and gnocchi lined up everywhere, all looking white and ready to cook. The whole kitchen felt cozy and warm, and it smelled amazing. The best part was that it tasted even better than it smelled. To me, pasta is connected to family and some of my warmest memories of being at my grandma's house.
